Basketball Recap: Rivers of Life Christian Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Rivers of Life Christian duked it out withHeritage Classical Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Rivers of Life Christian Eagles were beaten by the Heritage Classical Christian Academy Hawks 74-26. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-9.

Jacob Cochran was Rivers of Life Christian's leading scorer, having posted 15 points. Tayden Carter held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Heritage Classical Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trip Taylor led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine steals. Taylor's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luke Heskett, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 boards.

Rivers of Life Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Heritage Classical Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Rivers of Life Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-40 defeat against Mississippi Valley Christian on the 16th. As for Heritage Classical Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
