Basketball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Takes a Loss

If Emmanuel Christian was riding high fresh off their 66-22 takedown of Holgate last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Emmanuel Christian Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 62-61 to the Northwood Rangers. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 67-44.

Emmanuel Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Northwood, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-16.

Emmanuel Christian and Northwood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Emmanuel Christian will take on Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday down 428 places (468 vs. 40). Similarly, Northwood (ranked 808th) will meet Ottawa Hills (ranked 319th) at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
