Baseball Recap: Oakleaf Find Success

Oakleaf got themselves on the board against Thomas County Central on Saturday, but Thomas County Central never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets.

The result came thanks to Abrien Paseiro's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jonah Wynne was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Noah Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Oakleaf's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Thomas County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakleaf will venture away from home to square off against West Nassau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas County Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
