Soccer Recap: Bessemer City Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Bessemer City after they claimed the first score on Wednesday, but it was Shelby who ended up claiming the real prize. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Golden Lions by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Shelby this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in September.

Bessemer City has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11-1 record this season. As for Shelby, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8-3.
