Softball Game Preview: Cedar Park Timberwolves vs. Liberty Hill Panthers

Cedar Park hasn't had much luck against Liberty Hill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 6:15 p.m. Cedar Park has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cedar Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Glenn on Friday. They came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, Liberty Hill had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Liberty Hill's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Cedar Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Cedar Park suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Liberty Hill when the teams last played back in March. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
