Ravenna hasn't had much luck against Roosevelt recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Ravens will look to defend their home field against the Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ravenna will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Newton Falls on Thursday. The Ravens put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-7 victory. Considering the Ravens' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Connor Welling made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Hysell was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sean Jordan, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Roosevelt hadn't beaten Revere on the road since April 20, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Rough Riders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Minutemen, sneaking past 5-4.
With the win, Ravenna broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-16. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
