Softball Recap: Lancaster Takes a Loss

Richland Center hit Lancaster with a five-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Flying Arrows took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Flying Arrows were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Lancaster saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Morgan, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Natalie Koeller also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Lancaster's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Richland Center, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7.

Lancaster didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 defeat against Prairie du Chien on the 8th. As for Richland Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 win against River Valley on the 8th.
