Baseball Recap: Gaston Has No Trouble Against Scio

Gaston had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Scio on Tuesday. Gaston blew past Scio 9-1. The Greyhounds not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024.

Aiden Sheets was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Tavera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Gaston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scio only posted an OBP of .364.

Gaston now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Scio, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Gaston will face off against Salem Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scio, they will challenge Harrisburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
