Baseball Game Preview: Midway Green Wave vs. Wartburg Central Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Midway will face off against Wartburg Central. The Green Wave will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Midway after they put the first runs on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Wartburg Central by a score of 7-6.

Caiden Brewer was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Midway is 4-1-1 when Brewer posts two or more runs, but 4-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Steele, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wartburg Central's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1.
