Football Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Northwest Cabarrus and Oak Grove squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Northwest Cabarrus had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 36-7 loss at the hands of the Grizzlies. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Trojans couldn't quite close it out.

Northwest Cabarrus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keyshaun Barnette and Caleb Bryant.

Oak Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jyden Barnes, who rushed for 107 yards on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards Barnes has posted since back in October of 2024. Amir Dalton also helped out with an impressive 107 receiving yards.

Northwest Cabarrus' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Oak Grove, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Northwest Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Grove, they will take on Jay M. Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Grizzlies 13.1, the Bulldogs 10.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
