            Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Patriots vs. Devon Prep Tide        
        
		
        
        
            Archbishop Carroll had lost four straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 9-10 to make it five. They took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Devon Prep Tide. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing  4-2 to the Tide when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Archbishop Carroll saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Nick Gilroy, who  went 1-for-2 with one  RBI.
As for Devon Prep, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-11. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.
On Devon Prep's side,  John Doogan tossed a big game,   striking out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  Doogan a new career-high.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Billy Degler, who  got on base  in two of his three plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hudson Swan, who  went 1-for-2 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Archbishop Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Devon Prep, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  12-2  victory against Cardinal O'Hara on the 8th.
