Baseball Recap: Westminster Academy Victorious

Westminster Academy was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Deerfield Beach Bucks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Jesus Garcia was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Jayden Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Westminster Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Deerfield Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westminster Academy will face off against Mater Lakes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Deerfield Beach, they will square off against Olympic Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
