After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corinth, Pontotoc was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the South Pontotoc Cougars. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Corbyn Clayton was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Malachi Witcher, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Pontotoc's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for South Pontotoc, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.

Coming up, Pontotoc will challenge Amory at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Pontotoc does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
