Recap: Tipton Cardinals vs. Helias Crusaders
It was a good run, but the Tipton Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Helias.
Tipton's loss came despite strong showings from Courtney Edwards and Clara Williams. Edwards scored 14 points along with two blocks, while Williams scored 17 points along with six steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Schlotzhauer, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Helias, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tipton will take on Stover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Helias, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Capital City at 7:30 p.m.
