Softball Recap: Ellsworth Comes Up Short

Ellsworth extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They lost 17-0 to the East Jordan Red Devils. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Lancers were not able to get on the board.

As for East Jordan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9. Considering they have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For East Jordan's part, Emma Murray made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Murray has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bristol Skop, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Burks, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

As of now, neither Ellsworth nor East Jordan have any future games scheduled.
