Basketball Recap: Immokalee Takes a Loss

Immokalee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 58-2 defeat at the hands of the Barron Collier Cougars. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.

Madison Means was nothing short of spectacular for Barron Collier: she went 7 for 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Means a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Viotto, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Immokalee's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Barron Collier, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

Immokalee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-19 defeat against North Fort Myers on the 10th. As for Barron Collier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-41 loss against Naples on the 14th.
