Basketball Recap: St. James Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Blue Valley North

On Tuesday, St. James Academy faced Blue Valley North in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The St. James Academy Thunder fell to the Blue Valley North Mustangs 54-48. The Thunder have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

St. James Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Riley Kerwin and Regan Becker. Kerwin to rack up 20 points, while Becker dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Becker posted five steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Emma Smith was another key player, putting up nine points.

St. James Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Blue Valley North, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Coming up, St. James Academy will head out to challenge Blue Valley Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blue Valley North, they and Blue Valley Southwest will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
