Sanderson (Raleigh, N.C.) defeat
Broughton (Raleigh, N.C.) 42-16 after a solid game from
Jeriko Styles, who rushed for four touchdowns. Thanks to solid play, the senior now has eight touchdowns for the year.
After taking the lead on a Styles touchdown run in the first quarter, the Spartans led 28-3 at the half.
Sanderson grew its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored once in the quarter on a
Matt Koehler touchdown run.
The Spartans came in allowing an average of 21.0 points per game this season.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Capitals took, 49-21.
The win was a nice bounce back for Sanderson, which lost to Leesville Road last week, 28-17.
In a 4A Conference 11 game next week Sanderson (4-4) takes on Enloe, and Broughton (0-8) will go up against Wakefield also in a 4A Conference 11 game.
