Basketball Recap: Bandera Comes Up Short

Bandera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Navarro Panthers. The BULLDOGS were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bandera lost, don't look at Gabby Barrera. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points. That was a full 50% of Bandera's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kinlee Lawlis, who scored two points along with seven boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Bandera smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Tegan Harborth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Navarro, putting up 20 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Geipel, who had seven points and seven boards.

Bandera's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Navarro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-10.

Bandera wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-38 defeat against Davenport on the 22nd. Navarro has also already played their next contest, a 57-45 loss against Wimberley on the 21st.
