Baseball Game Preview: North Vermillion Falcons vs. Covington Trojans

North Vermillion is 0-10 against Covington since May of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Falcons will host the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. North Vermillion has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Vermillion came up short against Parke Heritage on Wednesday, falling 21-6.

Brody Cramer and Quintin Holt did some serious damage despite the final result: Cramer went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Holt went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Emmit Klugow was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Covington suffered their closest defeat since April 20, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Terre Haute South Vigo by a score of 6-4.

Covington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Hardy, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Covington has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for North Vermillion, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

North Vermillion might still be hurting after the 15-8 defeat they got from Covington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
