The Ben Davis Giants will square off against the Bethesda Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ben Davis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Ben Davis' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Lawrence Central. The Giants haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Riley Gilliland's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ben Davis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailee Latimer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bethesda Christian came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 11-6. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Annah Heath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Avery Gibbs and Alyssa Crowder did most of the damage at the plate: Gibbs went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Crowder went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Crowder has posted since back in April of 2024. Maylin Heathco also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Bethesda Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian struck out seven times.
Bethesda Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Ben Davis, the win also got them back to even at 4-4.
Everything went Ben Davis' way against Bethesda Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Ben Davis made off with a 13-2 victory. Will the Giants repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
