Football Recap: Rutherford Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rutherford lost against Bay back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rams took a blow against the Tornadoes, falling 65-20. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 437th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 108th).

Bay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javar Bowden, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving yards Bowden has posted since back in October of 2024. De'Jay Davenport also helped with two touchdowns in total.

This is the second loss in a row for Rutherford and nudges their season record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-3 Bozeman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75.7% over those games). As for Bay, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Rutherford will welcome Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bay, they will venture away from home to take on Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
