Volleyball Recap: Joliet Catholic Comes Up Short

Joliet Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Joliet West Tigers. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19.

Ella Horn paced Joliet Catholic's offense, picking up eight kills. Horn were helped by Emma Beattie and Maggie Tibbott, who contributed 12 assists each. Lila Mihelich controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Eden Eyassu was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Joliet Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Joliet West, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Joliet Catholic has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lincoln-Way East on the 9th. As for Joliet West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Lake Park on the 5th.
