Volleyball Game Preview: Columbus East Olympians vs. Shelbyville Golden Bears

The Columbus East Olympians will face off against the Shelbyville Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Columbus East was able to grind out a solid victory over Whiteland, taking the game 3-1.

While Columbus East might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Whiteland scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shelbyville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Warren Central on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 27-25.

Columbus East pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Shelbyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.

Everything went Columbus East's way against Shelbyville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Columbus East made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Olympians repeat their success, or do the Golden Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
