Soccer Game Preview: South San Antonio vs. Southside

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South San Antonio take on the Southside at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday... South San Antonio's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

South San Antonio lost 7-1 to Jay on Friday. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-0.

Meanwhile, while the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was Jay who was credited with the victory on Thursday. Jay got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to Southside's seven. Even if the Cardinals couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

South San Antonio's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Southside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-3.

South San Antonio came out on top in a nail-biter against Southside when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for South San Antonio since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
