Basketball Recap: Charlestown Beats Floyd Central for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Charlestown waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Floyd Central Highlanders with a sharp 73-53 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Charlestown was led to victory by Anthony Fresh and Keevin Bowman. Fresh went 12-for-21 to rack up 31 points and six boards, while Bowman dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Fresh's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Parker Odle, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 14 points.

Charlestown was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Charlestown's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Floyd Central, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Charlestown will challenge North Oldham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Floyd Central, they have already played their next game, a 51-47 defeat against Southwestern on the 15th.
