Softball Recap: Woodlan Gets the Win

While Woodlan's win against Garrett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Railroaders 7-6. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jade Lichty was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Alyssa Harvey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Woodlan's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Garrett, they dropped their record down to 16-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodlan will head out to take on Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Garrett, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lakewood Park Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.54 runs per game on average), something the Railroaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
