Baseball Recap: Kiefer Wins Going Away Against Westville

With a playoff win on the line, Kiefer rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Westville Yellowjackets with a sharp 12-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Kiefer got a massive performance out of Phillip Crabtree, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Crabtree a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Robertson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kiefer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Kiefer's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Westville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-21.

Kiefer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 defeat against Beggs on the 1st. Westville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
