Baseball Game Preview: Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans vs. Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles

The Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kerr-Vance Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Kerr-Vance Academy came up short against East Wake Academy on Friday, falling 26-4.

Kerr-Vance Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Johnson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cape Fear Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Community Christian on Friday as Cape Fear Christian Academy made off with a 17-0 win.

Tyson Stephens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stephens was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Conner Parrish was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Parker Mclamb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Cape Fear Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Community Christian only posted an OBP of .222.

Kerr-Vance Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, their record now sits at 1-0.

Kerr-Vance Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Cape Fear Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 8-4.
