Basketball Recap: Jesenia Rodriguez Key Part of a Team Effort in Storm Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sickles, Chamberlain was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They managed a 35-30 win over the Riverview Sharks. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Sharks are ranked 477th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chamberlain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jesenia Rodriguez out in front who posted 16 points and four steals. That's the most points Rodriguez has posted since back in January of 2024. Ellayna Stephens was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Chamberlain's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Riverview, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Chamberlain has already played their next matchup (against Robinson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Riverview is taking a road trip to square off against Hillsborough at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
