Basketball Recap: Frontier Beats Valley for Their Third Straight Victory

Frontier waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Valley Lumberjacks 55-39. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Frontier's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Powell, who went 8 of 18 en route to 19 points. Powell's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bowersock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Frontier's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Frontier will take on St. Marys in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Frontier is facing St. Marys at the right time seeing as St. Marys is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Heartland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
