Basketball Recap: Murphysboro Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Murphysboro can now relate to. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Massac County Patriots on Wednesday. The Red Devils have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Massac County was led to victory by Jack Turner and Jude Harmon. Turner shot 64% from the field on his way to 22 points and six rebounds, while Harmon went 7-for-11 to rack up 20 points.

Murphysboro's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Massac County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-17.

Murphysboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Massac County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-35 defeat against Vienna on the 28th.
