Softball Game Preview: Sherando Warriors vs. Fauquier Falcons

The Sherando Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Fauquier Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Sherando sitting on four straight wins and Fauquier on nine.

Sherando had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Liberty on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Madalyn Cox was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leighanne Lowe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Fauquier came out on top against Brentsville District on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Falcons took their game against the Tigers 6-2. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Tigers on their field since March 18, 2022.

Fauquier pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Sherando, their record is now 9-4.
