Byers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Crowley County Chargers get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Earl made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Byers is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Earl was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabe Price, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Byers is undefeated when Price posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Chas Butterfield was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Byers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Byers now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Crowley County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Byers will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Lupton at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluedevils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.85 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crowley County, they will take on Rocky Ford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers are facing the Meloneers at the right time seeing as the Meloneers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
