Softball Recap: Lyons Beats Moffat County for Their Third Straight Win

Lyons came out on top against Moffat County on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Lions put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-0 win. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Gretta Wynja made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Dahlia Oviatt was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Ella White was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lyons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. The last time their OBP was this high was back in September of 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for Lyons, bringing their record up to 3-0.
