The Duarte Falcons will take on the Santa Monica Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Duarte is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

Duarte is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Heritage Christian by a score of 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Alyssa Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Valeria Hinajosa was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Peinado, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Santa Monica sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Hillcrest on Thursday.

Santa Monica is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Duarte, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
