Soccer Recap: West Wilkes Takes a Loss

West Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Wilkes Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against North Wilkes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

West Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for North Wilkes, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 4-15-1 record.

Looking ahead, West Wilkes will square off against Alleghany at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alleghany's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. North Wilkes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
