Preview: Gurdon Go-Devils vs. Woodlawn Bears

The Gurdon Go-Devils will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Woodlawn Bears at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-33, which was the final score in Gurdon's tilt against the Dragons on Monday. While losing is never fun, Gurdon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Dragons are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, Woodlawn unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Junction City.

Gurdon's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.5 points per game. As for Woodlawn, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Gurdon might still be hurting after the 56-31 defeat they got from the Bears in their previous meeting back in January. Can Gurdon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
