Baseball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Bonita Vista Barons

The Patrick Henry Patriots will head out to face off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Patrick Henry's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Bonita Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Patrick Henry is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Montgomery just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aztecs. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Bonita Vista was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against Point Loma, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Barons have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Bonita Vista now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Patrick Henry, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. However, it's not like Bonita Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Patrick Henry came out on top in a nail-biter against Bonita Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Patrick Henry since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
