Baseball Game Preview: Hancock Panthers vs. Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams

Hancock has gone a perfect 4-0 against Turkeyfoot Valley Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Rams at 3:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Hancock and five for Turkeyfoot Valley Area.

GVCS Broadfording hit Hancock with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Lions, falling 13-4.

Blaire Ray was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Hancock is 3-1 when Ray posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Clingerman, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Turkeyfoot Valley Area's offense. They lost 12-0 to Blacklick Valley on Tuesday.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hancock, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hancock has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Turkeyfoot Valley Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Hancock's way against Turkeyfoot Valley Area in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Hancock made off with a 10-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
