Baseball Recap: Shorecrest Prep Finds Home Field Redemption Against Bell Creek Academy

There's no place like home for Shorecrest Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Bell Creek Academy Panthers by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2018.

Jake Diner was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Register, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Jordan Black also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Shorecrest Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bell Creek Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.

Coming up, Shorecrest Prep will challenge Tampa Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on March 4th. As for Bell Creek Academy, they have already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Southeast on the 26th.
