Volleyball Recap: Carmichaels Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mapletown on Thursday, Carmichaels came back down to earth. The Mighty Mikes came up short against the Albert Gallatin Colonials on Monday, falling 3-0. The Mighty Mikes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Colonials from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-15.

Carmichaels' offense was headlined by Brenna Walker and Bailey Barnyak, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Reese Marzo and her 12 assists. She and Barnyak didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Carmichaels' loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Albert Gallatin, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Carmichaels didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Avella on the 16th. As for Albert Gallatin, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Belle Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on October 14.
