Baseball Game Preview: Fort Knox Eagles vs. McCreary Central Raiders

The Fort Knox Eagles will square off against the McCreary Central Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Knox has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fort Knox came up short against Hart County on Friday, falling 11-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.

Fort Knox saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Porter, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, McCreary Central can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oneida 3-2.

Riley Newman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kolton Summers was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Tristen West was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Fort Knox's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for McCreary Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
