Baseball Recap: Stewarts Creek Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilson Central, Stewarts Creek was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Rockvale. The win continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their matchups with Rockvale: they've now won eight in a row.

Caleb Lawson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Stewarts Creek is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Ayden Jackson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 15 matchups. Hunter Blanton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Stewarts Creek's record now sits at 10-8. As for Rockvale, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Stewarts Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rockvale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
