Basketball Game Preview: Western Indians vs. Piketon Redstreaks

Western and Piketon are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Western Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Piketon Redstreaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Western came up short against Wheelersburg and fell 75-64.

Western might have lost, but man, Drew Haggy was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. Haggy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Foster Davis, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points.

Piketon's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Westfall on Friday. Piketon secured a 51-47 W over Adena.

Western's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Piketon, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Western won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, slipping by Piketon 84-83. Will Western repeat their success, or does Piketon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
