Softball Recap: Burke County Bears vs. Butler Bulldogs        
        
		
             Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Burke County). They put the hurt on the Butler Bulldogs with a sharp  29-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
  Malia Washington was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career- in  hits. Washington was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing four bases while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news, Burke County got a  massive  performance out of  Braylin Fare, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Fare is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games she's  played dating back to last season.  Maddox Russell was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Burke County  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 5.4  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last five matches they've averaged 10.
 Burke County has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games,  which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record  this season. As for Butler,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burke County will venture away from home to  square off against Josey  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Burke County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7  runs per game  this season. As for Butler, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Laney at 5:00  p.m. Laney will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last.
