Volleyball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. Wimberley Texans

Bandera is 0-10 against Wimberley since September of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The BULLDOGS will face off against the Texans at 6:00 p.m.

Bandera managed to slip by Canyon Lake the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The BULLDOGS came up short against the Hawks on Tuesday, falling 3-0. BULLDOGS fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Hawks since Tuesday.

While Bandera ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 25-17.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Taytum Moeller, who had 18 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Sydney Moore was another key player, getting 12 kills and four digs.

Meanwhile, Wimberley entered their tilt with Fredericksburg on Tuesday with 19 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 20. They blew past the Billies 3-0.

One reason for the win was Wimberley's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15, 25-10.

Wimberley's victory bumped their record up to 34-5. As for Bandera, their loss dropped their record down to 13-23.

Bandera suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Wimberley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the BULLDOGS avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
