Soccer Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the McPherson Bullpups. While losing is never fun, Winfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 94th, while McPherson are ranked 29th).

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11-1. As for McPherson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Winfield will take on rival Circle on Thursday. Meanwhile, McPherson is set to face off against their familiar foe Augusta at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
