Football Recap: ALA - West Foothills Piles Up the Points Against Thunderbird

ALA - West Foothills got themselves on the board against Thunderbird on Friday, but Thunderbird never followed suit. They blew past the Titans, posting a 35-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Guardians, who have now won three matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

Leading ALA - West Foothills to victory were Kenyon Rosenthall and Carlos Serrano. Rosenthall rushed for 124 yards and two scores on only 13 carries, while Serrano threw for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Serrano a new career-high in passer rating (113.6). Another big playmaker for ALA - West Foothills was Cole Nuanez, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something ALA - West Foothills proved: they limited Thunderbird to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. While one picked up at least five total tackles, Logan Alvarez stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks, forced two fumbles, and made five total tackles. ALA - West Foothills is 4-1 when they shut down the run game so well.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for ALA - West Foothills, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Nuanez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

ALA - West Foothills' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4. As for Thunderbird, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
