Zion Harmon of Bowling Green (Ky.) jumped on the national radar when he became the first seventh-grader to play on the Nike EYBL circuit.

He added to his legacy in a big way over the weekend.

The 5-foot-9 eighth-grade guard scored 18 points and drilled a game-winning jumper off the glass Saturday with 23 seconds remaining for a thrilling 80-79 win over Scott (Covington) in the Sweet 16 semifinals.

Harmon then had a masterful encore, scoring 21 points Sunday in a 67-56 win over Cooper (Burlington) at Rupp Arena in the state final. The victory was Bowling Green's 29th in a row and helped the Purples finish 36-2 and capture their first state title.

For the season, Harmon averaged 16.7 points per game and connected on nearly 90 percent of his free throw attempts (127 of 144).
